Significant increase in scrap prices in Turkey

Last Friday’s price rose $ 9.50 and reached $ 294 per tonne of CFR for Class 1 and Class 2 heavy duty scrap.

Shipments of heavy, shredded England scraps apparently ended up in the $ 293 to $ 303 per tonne CFR of Turkey and surprised market participants with a $ 15 price increase over previous deals. As of Thursday, buyers’ asking prices were no more than $ 280 a tonne CFR.
